Dale Paris (Clay Doyle) was discovered after an intensive casting search in Florida. He was studying theatre at Florida Atlantic University when his professor, Tom Atkins, recommended him for the role. Night Orchid was Dale's first feature and he followed that up with the lead in the upcoming featurSuicide Blond by Eduardo Carrillo. Dale is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In true South Florida fashion he lived six years on a sailboat and attributes his strong work ethic to working ever since he was twelve. You can also see Dale in the FINE LINE features release, Troy Beyer's Let's Talk About Sex. Mary Ellen O'Brien (June Mable) performs both in front of the camera and behind it. In Night Orchid O'Brien served as Executive Producer and Casting Director as well as playing the lead role June Mable. After graduate theatre studies at Yale Drama School and Tulane University, where she earned an MFA degree in Theatre, O'Brien wrote Film Acting, praised by Los Angeles Times book reviewer Irwin R. Blacker as "A welcome surprise is Film Acting...a rare item---a quality how-to." Formerly Artistic Director at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre in New Orleans. O'Brien has also taught acting and directing at many colleges, universities and theatre conservatories including Hollins College, Tulane University, Coconut Grove Playhouse, Contemporary Arts Center Theatre, New Orleans, Florida Atlantic University, Florida State University London Study program, New World School of the Arts, Miami, and Rollins College, Winter Park, FL. A professional actor and director, O'Brien has had roles in films and television series including Sydney Sheldon's If Tomorrow Comes and Martin Scorcese's Cape Fear, and received Best Director awards in New Orleans for her productions of 4 X Beckett, Runaways, and Passion. Alyssa Simon (Sarah Miller) is another native Floridian making her feature film debut with Night Orchid. Alyssa was born and raised in North Miami Beach and has lived and worked practically everywhere in the state. Simon has collaborated with director Mark Atkins on numerous projects including a historical recreation for Biscayne National Park. Alyssa began her training at the Florida School of the Arts and went on to receive a B.F.A. in theatre from Florida International University. Alyssa has worked professionally in theatre for several years. Currently Alyssa resides in New York, auditioning for theatre and film roles. |
